Our client uses strategic litigation to challenge and address antisemitism across the UK. Its legal work spans a wide range of mechanisms, including private prosecutions, judicial review, regulatory complaints, and defamation actions. It has also played a role in major regulatory investigations into institutional antisemitism.

Building on a strong track record of using legal processes to drive accountability and secure justice, the organisation is expanding its litigation programme. Particular focus is being placed on tackling antisemitism in higher education and in online environments.

The Role

The legal team undertakes a diverse and complex caseload across multiple areas of law. Its work involves assessing incidents of antisemitism, determining appropriate legal strategies, and pursuing cases through criminal, civil, and public law routes.

In addition to casework, the team provides internal legal support across a range of areas, including charity governance, employment law, and defamation.

The organisation is seeking a Paralegal to contribute strong legal skills and a clear commitment to addressing antisemitism through legal action.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support a wide range of strategic litigation and in-house legal activities. This includes case analysis, legal research, case management, and drafting documentation, as well as coordinating with volunteers and external legal professionals.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the intake and triage of new cases, including initial legal assessment under supervision
  • Supporting ongoing casework to ensure matters progress efficiently
  • Coordinating with volunteer legal professionals and external counsel
  • Drafting legal correspondence, pleadings, witness statements, applications, and regulatory complaints
  • Conducting legal research to support case strategy
  • Assisting with the review and development of internal policies and standard agreements

The role involves close collaboration with:

  • The internal legal team on casework, compliance, and contract management
  • Specialist volunteers involved in investigations and enforcement activity
  • External solicitors, barristers, and other legal professionals contributing on a pro bono basis
  • Colleagues providing operational, administrative, and communications support

Access to legal research tools and resources will be provided as required.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining accuracy under pressure. The role requires discretion, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

Strong interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively within a growing team. A genuine commitment to equality and to addressing antisemitism through legal means is fundamental to the role.

Essential Requirements

  • Law degree (LLB) or completion of the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL)
  • Experience in a legal or professional office environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong written, verbal, and organisational skills
  • Demonstrable commitment to tackling antisemitism

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience in a paralegal role or managing high-volume casework
  • Experience in an in-house legal team, particularly within the charitable sector
  • Exposure to public law, criminal law, or related areas
