This is a genuinely varied role spanning Executive Assistant support, chambers operations and marketing. The ideal candidate will be a bright, ambitious graduate with a genuine eagerness to make an immediate and meaningful contribution.
Whilst relevant experience of one to two years would be welcomed, applications from those transitioning from a different background will be equally considered. Above all, it is the candidate’s mindset and approach that will be the defining factor in this selection process. Chambers are looking for someone who identifies what needs doing without being prompted, takes ownership with minimal oversight, and brings genuine enthusiasm to everything from complex international travel itineraries to supporting the Chambers Marketing Team with broader marketing activity.
Supporting the Senior Clerks and Head of Chambers across strategy, finance and office management. Maintaining, developing, and implementing administrative systems and procedures in alignment with chambers’ wider strategy. The successful candidate will be proactive in identifying operational gaps and taking the initiative to address them, whether that involves streamlining an existing process or ensuring outstanding action points are followed through to completion.
Drafting agendas, attending meetings, producing accurate minutes, and tracking actions through to completion. Preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence to the highest standard of attention to detail. Building strong, trusted relationships with barristers, staff, and external stakeholders, and providing advisory support where needed.
Working closely with the Chambers’ Marketing Executive to keep social media channels, the website, LinkedIn, and industry directories current and compelling. Drafting communications, sense-checking speeches and articles, spotting PR opportunities, and keeping a close eye on industry news, key calendar moments, and movers and shakers across the legal market.
The ideal candidate will be a graduate with the intellect and drive to develop quickly within a high-performing environment. They will be equally comfortable engaging with clients and attending to the day-to-day operational requirements of the role. Confidence is important, as is a genuine openness to learning and a commitment to doing things the right way.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is a high level of organisation and an acute attention to detail. Candidates who demonstrate an appreciation of, or genuine curiosity about, the legal sector and the Bar in particular, will stand out as compelling applicants.
Chambers life carries its own rhythms, culture, and expectations. The right candidate will either have an instinctive understanding of this environment or demonstrate a clear desire to immerse themselves in it.
